The easiest way to reach Skye is via the Skye Road Bridge. It’s around 4 hours from the Glasgow area and 5 hours from Edinburgh.

The nearest airport is Inverness (EasyJet & Flybe) which is around 2 hours away via a drive along the stunning Loch Ness.

By train you can travel either from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh or from Fort William to Mallaig.

Skye can also be reached by ferry from Mallaig to Armadale. Please see http://www.calmac.co.uk for further details.

From March/April to October it’s also possible to take a car ferry from Glenelg on the mainland to Kyle Rhea on the Isle of Skye. This ferry is the last manually operated turntable ferry in Scotland and is run by the Isle of Skye Ferry Community Interest Company. This crossing will take you through some stunning scenery.

Once on the Isle of Skye – whether you arrive by road or ferry – Geary is about another hour’s drive away through Skye’s majestic Cuillin mountains.

Follow the signs to Broadford and then on to Portree after which you follow the signs for Dunvegan.

We will send detailed directions once your booking is confirmed and if you let us know where you are travelling from we will advise you of the best route.
